Creating a Village
Every number represents a life changed, a family empowered, and a community strengthened
via our community events, providing greater access to perinatal services in our region
many of which are women-led, supported through our “Nominate a Mum” initiative and community events
to help local families gain affordable access to life-saving first aid training and essential services
by attending infant first aid sessions targeted for rural areas, accessible at a fraction of the original cost
Our Story
In 2023, three pioneering women came together to bring Mitchell Shire its very first pregnancy, birth and parenting expo.
Our first expo was held on Saturday July 15, 2023 at Kilmore Memorial Hall. We welcomed 200 guests and hosted 20 stall holders to showcase their products and services.

Since our humble beginnings, our team has slowly grown as our efforts reach the broader community.
In late 2023, Sanjukta Glentworth joined as a Technologist and Emily Carmody joined us as a Treasurer soon after.
Our little team has been growing ever since!

Our story

2023 Pregnancy and Post Birth Expo
Our first expo was held on Saturday July 15, 2023 at Kilmore Memorial Hall. We welcomed 200 guests and hosted 20 stall holders to showcase their products and services.
The expo acted as a one-stop-shop for women and families, emphasising not only newborn care but physical and mental maternal health.
Something we’ve certainly noticed, which has been highlighted since COVID, is women aren’t really getting adequate postpartum care, and they’re discharged from hospital really early postpartum. In terms of support with breastfeeding and sleep, they’re just not getting it. It’s a really isolating time, and they are struggling to find their village. Essentially, we wanted to bring their village to them.
